Privacy Policy

What we collect, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do about it. Written in plain English, because a privacy policy nobody can read isn’t much of a policy.

The short version: we collect your name and email only if you send us a message or subscribe. We use basic analytics to see which pages are read. We use affiliate links, which may set a cookie in your browser. We don’t sell your data to anyone, ever. You can ask us to delete what we hold by emailing ceo@aeromarketing.site.

Privacy policy and data handling at Aero Marketing

Who we are

Aero Marketing is an independent publication covering Campaigner email marketing software. Our website is https://aeromarketing.site.

We are the data controller for information collected through this website. If you have a question about how your data is handled, email ceo@aeromarketing.site and a person will answer, usually within two business days.

We are not Campaigner and have no access to any Campaigner account you may hold. If your question is about your account with them, they are the only ones who can help.

What this privacy policy covers

When you contact us

Our contact and question forms ask for your name, email address and message. We use these only to reply to you. We don’t add you to a mailing list for having asked a question, and we don’t pass your details to anyone.

When you subscribe

If you enter your email address in a subscribe form, we store it so we can send you updates about our guides. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you immediately.

Server logs

Like almost every website, our host records standard technical information when a page is requested: IP address, browser type, the page visited and the time. This is used for security and troubleshooting, and it happens automatically whether or not you interact with the site.

Comments

If comments are enabled on an article and you leave one, we collect the information shown in the comment form, plus your IP address and browser string, to help detect spam. An anonymised version of your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to check for a profile picture; their policy is at automattic.com/privacy.

Affiliate links and tracking

This is the section most review sites leave out, so we’ve put it near the top.

Aero Marketing is funded through affiliate arrangements. That means some links on this site are tracked: when you click one, the destination company may place a cookie in your browser recording that you arrived from us. If you then sign up or buy something, we may receive a commission at no additional cost to you.

  • We don’t see who you are. We receive aggregate reporting — how many people signed up — not your name, email or payment details.
  • The cookie is theirs, not ours. Once you click through, that company’s own policy governs what happens next. It’s worth reading theirs too.
  • You always have a choice. You can visit any platform we write about directly, without using our links. The guides here are free either way.
  • Affiliate links are disclosed on every page that carries one, not just here.

Cookies

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. This site may use:

  • Essential cookies that keep the site working — for example, remembering that you’ve submitted a form.
  • Analytics cookies that tell us which pages get read and how people arrive.
  • Affiliate cookies set by third parties when you click a tracked link, as described above.
  • WordPress cookies if you comment or log in — these remember your details so you don’t retype them, and last between one day and one year depending on type.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. Blocking them won’t stop you reading anything here.

Analytics

We use website analytics to understand which guides people find useful and how they reached us. This tells us things like “the pricing page was read 400 times this week” — it doesn’t tell us who you are.

If we use Google Analytics, data may be processed on Google’s servers under their own terms. You can opt out across all sites using Google’s browser add-on.

Who we share your data with

We do not sell your personal data. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone.

We do rely on service providers who process data on our behalf in order to run the site:

  • Our web hosting provider, which stores the site and its server logs
  • Our email provider, which delivers messages you send us and any updates you’ve subscribed to
  • Our analytics provider, as described above

We may also disclose information if we’re legally required to — for example, in response to a valid legal request.

How long we keep your data

  • Contact form messages: kept while the conversation is active and for a reasonable period afterwards, then deleted.
  • Subscriber emails: kept until you unsubscribe.
  • Comments: kept indefinitely with the article, so follow-up comments can be recognised automatically.
  • Server logs: retained by our host according to their standard retention period.

You can ask us to delete anything we hold at any time.

Your rights over your data

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights. We’ll honour these requests regardless of where you’re based, because it’s simpler and fairer than checking.

  • Access — ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction — ask us to fix anything inaccurate
  • Deletion — ask us to erase what we hold, except anything we’re legally required to keep
  • Objection — ask us to stop using your data for a particular purpose
  • Withdraw consent — unsubscribe at any time, using the link in any email or by writing to us

To exercise any of these, email ceo@aeromarketing.site. We don’t charge for it and we don’t make it difficult.

How we protect your data

The site runs over an encrypted HTTPS connection, access to the admin area is restricted and password-protected, and we keep the software updated.

We’ll be straightforward about the limits, though: no website can promise perfect security, and anyone who tells you otherwise is overselling. We collect as little as we can, which is the most effective protection available to a site this size.

Children

This site is aimed at people running businesses and isn’t intended for children. We don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we’ll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If our data practices change — for instance if we add a new tool or a new affiliate arrangement — we’ll update this page and change the review date below. Substantial changes will be noted at the top of the page.
